You obviously love tennis as much as we do. For more than 20 years, we have been coaching international amateur and professional players of all ages throughout their entire careers – from their initial steps on the court to world ranking matches. Our motivation is to help our coaches reach their full potential on the court.

Tennis is our life. Whenever we can, we are on our courts in the Mitte, Wedding and Reinickendorf districts of Berlin: either to coach other athletes or to play ourselves.

Hakan
Karahan

Hakan is a certified tennis coach and qualified sports instructor as well as an ambitious player and the founder of the Karahan Tennis Academy. He has been coaching players at all levels for over 20 years and was an international coach on the ITF Tour for many years.

After studying sports in the Turkish port city of Izmir, he took over the responsibility of sports coordinator and head coach for 15 coaches in a professional tennis performance center.

From 2000-2007, he coached Turkey’s national tennis teams as national coach before moving to Berlin in 2010 and starting a family there. Hakan has been a volunteer board member of several tennis clubs in Berlin since that time.

Hakan sees tennis as a team sport, driven by passion, discipline and sportsmanship.

Theo
Passenheim

Theo holds a GTF (German Tennis Federation) C license. He is an ambitious tennis player (LK 1) in the regional league and is studying sports science. Theo was trained as a player and coach by Hakan in his youth.

Alp
Gölcüklü

Alp was already one of the top 50 players in Europe at the age of 14 and ranked in the top 30 at 16. He made it into the top 100 players in the world when he was only 18. Alp and Hakan have known each other since Alp was 5 years old.

Hakan is the head coach of the Karahan Tennis Academy. He holds a USTA A license, an ITF license and a TTF license.

About us

To us, tennis is more than just sport; it is an attitude to life. After all, what we teach and learn on the court also shapes us in our everyday lives. And when our players make an effort to reach the next level in their game, we are there to support them with customized training sessions: point by point, game by game.

At the Karahan Tennis Academy in Berlin, we also live by this philosophy in our coaching team. We have known each other for many years and think of each other as a family. We also have longstanding friendships with many of our students.

We are on the court every day to spread the word about the sport, meet people we like and help them become the best possible version of themselves. And we are there when it counts.
